Paying should feel safe and simple. Here is how we accept payment, how your details are protected, and the safeguards that sit behind every checkout.

This page describes how payments and security work at launch. Checkout currently runs in prototype mode, so no real payments are charged yet. The security architecture described here reflects how live payments are handled.
We keep payment straightforward and secure. At checkout you can pay with the major debit and credit cards, processed through our payment provider.
The payment options available to you are always shown at checkout, along with any delivery charges, before you confirm and pay.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe, a leading global payments provider. When you pay, your card details are sent directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection and handled within its secure, PCI-DSS-compliant systems. PCI-DSS is the payment card industry’s security standard for handling card data.
Crucially, Osevaro never sees or stores your full card number. We do not hold your card details on our own systems, which removes one of the most sensitive risks from the equation entirely. Stripe handles the card data so that we do not have to.
We never store your card details
Your full card number is handled only by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider, Stripe. It is never stored on Osevaro’s systems.
Your connection to Osevaro is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS), the same technology banks use to protect information in transit. This means the details you enter, from your address to your basket, are encrypted as they travel between your device and our systems, so they cannot be read in transit.
Beyond payment, we handle your personal data carefully and only for the purposes you would expect, such as running your account and fulfilling your orders. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, how it is used and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Modern card payments include built-in safeguards designed to protect you. Where your bank requires it, your payment may prompt an extra verification step to confirm it is really you.
For your own safety, Osevaro will never ask you for your full card number, PIN or online banking password by email, phone or message. If you ever receive a request like that claiming to be from us, do not respond, and let us know.
Paying by card can also offer you additional protection. Debit and credit card payments in the UK may be covered by chargeback schemes, and eligible credit card purchases can benefit from protection under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. These protections sit alongside your rights with us, including our returns and refunds process.
Osevaro is being prepared for launch. Checkout currently runs in prototype mode, which means no real payment is charged and no live card transaction is processed yet. The payment methods, security measures and protections described on this page reflect how payments will work once we go live.
