A plain-English summary — draft
Osevaro is in pre-launch, so this statement is a working draft that will be reviewed and confirmed before we begin trading, including through independent accessibility testing. We are committed to making the site usable for as many people as possible.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We treat accessibility as part of building the site well, not as an afterthought, and we design for people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader, need larger text or higher contrast, or prefer reduced motion.
Across the store we build with accessibility in mind. In practice this includes:
Our target is full conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. As a pre-launch site that has not yet been independently audited, we currently describe ourselves as partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, but some areas may not yet fully meet it. We will publish an updated conformance position once independent testing is complete.
We are honest about where we still have work to do. Known limitations include:
We treat any accessibility issue you report as a priority and will aim to fix it as part of ongoing improvements.
The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers on desktop and mobile, and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers (for example VoiceOver and NVDA), browser zoom and operating-system text-size and contrast settings. If you use an older browser or a specific assistive technology and something does not work, please tell us so we can help and improve.
If you have difficulty using any part of the site, or you need information in an alternative format, please contact us at our contact page (a monitored support email will be published before launch). Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology you use, and we will do our best to help. We aim to respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
