This policy explains the cookies and browser storage Osevaro uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. Essential storage keeps the shop working; optional analytics is off unless you turn it on.

This is prototype policy content and must be reviewed before launch. It is a draft and does not constitute final terms or legal advice.
A plain-English summary — draft
Osevaro is in pre-launch, so this policy is a working draft and will be finalised and reviewed before we begin trading. It is written to reflect our obligations under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
This policy sits alongside our Privacy policy, which explains more broadly how we handle your personal data. Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent, which you can change at any time using the preferences button at the end of this page.
We group cookies and browser storage into four standard categories. Only strictly necessary storage is always on; everything else is optional and controlled by your consent.
| Category | What it does | Needs your consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes the shop work — remembering your basket, your sign-in and your cookie choice. | No — the site cannot function without it |
| Functional | Remembers preferences you set, such as your wishlist, to improve your experience. | Set only where you have opted in |
| Analytics | Helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, in aggregate. | Yes — off unless you accept |
| Marketing | Would support advertising or cross-site tracking. | Yes — and we do not currently use these |
In the current build, the essential browser storage we rely on includes:
With your consent, we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — for example which pages are popular — so we can improve it. Analytics loads only when it is enabled for the environment and you have actively accepted it in the cookie banner. If you reject, or have not yet chosen, no analytics is loaded. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles.
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner. Strictly necessary storage is already active because the shop cannot work without it. Optional analytics is off until you accept. Your choice is remembered so we do not ask again on every visit, and you can change it whenever you like.
You can reopen your cookie preferences and change your choice at any time using the button below. Withdrawing consent stops future optional cookies; it does not affect anything that was already lawfully processed.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings — for example to block or delete cookies, or to clear site data. Note that blocking strictly necessary storage may stop parts of the shop, such as your basket and checkout, from working.
We may update this policy as the site develops or the law changes. The date it was last reviewed is shown at the top of the page.
Do I have to accept cookies to use the site?
You only need strictly necessary storage, which is always on so the shop can work. Analytics and any future marketing cookies are optional and require your consent.
How do I change my cookie choice?
Use the "Cookie preferences" button at the bottom of this page to reopen the banner and accept or reject optional cookies at any time. You can also clear cookies through your browser settings.
Do you use advertising or tracking cookies?
No. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
What happens if I block all cookies in my browser?
Optional features will not be set, and blocking strictly necessary storage may stop core parts of the shop — such as your basket and checkout — from working correctly.
